Villandry Contracting knocked it out of the park for us. We used them to completely remodel our kitchen, as well as repair a roof and make a few changes to our dining room, family room and finished basement. From the initial design and planning, to the meat of the reconstruction itself, and then the finishing touches, Fernando and his team were fantastic. They came in on time, and on budget! I have never worked with a more organized and thorough contracting Company, and they made the process fun by being so on top of things for us. This is my fifth or sixth renovation project dating back 18 years in several locations, and this was by far the best in so many ways. We have worked with Villandry Contracting and Fernando Carreiro on several home projects during the past 20 years and have been totally satisfied with every outcome. Fernando, Kerry, Rui and Luis, I want to thank all of you for a wonderful experience with the renovation of our new kitchen. The workmanship is outstanding and the attention to detail and follow through by everyone at VCI is exceptional! VCI truly exhibits "World Class Service". Our project was finished sooner than projected and that was due to the remarkable scheduling of all the many sub-contractors that were needed to complete the project. There was not a day of "down time"! Fernando and Kerry were an email away with any question and I would even receive answers to any questions I wrote at night that night! I actually felt guilty that it was so easy on my end -- I just had to make the choices (and that was done with much attention and guidance from Kerry) and I would come home each day to find a new area completed. I have used Villandry Contracting for 5 different projects over a 15 year period. Projects have ranged from window installation, deck addition, family room finish work, front entrance portico and lastly a total kitchen/ bathroom remodel. I have 100% confidence in the quality of their work, the professionalism of the employees and the fact that they stand by their work. The project ran on time and continuous once started. We are very pleased with our new kitchen and bath! Things started off well when Fernando came for an estimate and remembered everything we said. We were impressed with David's meticulous plans and precise knowledge about the details of our project, which assured us the project would progress smoothly. There were never any surprises about costs or work that would be done. Crew members were here every day during our 3-month project, and everyone we met was friendly and attentive to our requests. Fernando, Sean, and Kerry all worked tirelessly to ensure we were pleased with the work; they were all quick to respond to our concerns and questions. Even after the project was finished and the final payments made, VCI and the plumbers came back to fix a faulty radiator valve. Hi Kerry: I was looking at our kitchen again this morning and thought I'd drop a quick note. AS POSTED ON ANGIE's LIST ("A" RATINGS ACROSS THE BOARD): This project went incredibly smoothly thanks to Villandry Contracting. Their estimate was detailed and allowed us to really understand when costs changed. They started the job when they told us they would, completed it in a timely manner, and had someone at our house every day (except maybe toward the end when we were waiting for fixtures, etc.). They worked with us to set up a temporary kitchen (which was actually workable) in the basement. Their work was impressive, from the removal of structural walls and the installation of steel beams to the finer carpentry work. They had very good input when we ran into problems and were helpful at resolving them with us at a reasonable cost. I can't say enough good things about them. My only complaint would be the amount of paperwork. We felt that the price, although maybe not the lowest out there, was more than fair given the service. - S. FELTON (LEXINGTON)

I want to thank you for the outstanding work you and your crew did remodeling our apartment. From the moment we began working with you in considering the redesign of our kitchen/dining room and living room we were impressed with the thoroughness of your response to our ideas. Field Supervisor Fernando Carreiro was very professional in working with us and the sub-contractors. We were very impressed with how he demanded the very best work and materials from them. The ideas he suggested regarding modifications to the original design created a far better result than would otherwise have happened. He is very knowledgeable about all phases of construction from the rough work to the finish. Foreman Sean Gardner was always concerned that the work being done was to our satisfaction. We were very impressed with the quality of the finish work that he and his team completed. These men, Michael Cassaza, Paul Synan and Sopheak Taulk, were very efficient and expert in the work they did. Mike and Paul did excellent work redoing the roof-line for the expansion of our kitchen. Sean and the whole team quickly reframed the kitchen walls and ceilings to minimize exposure to the weather. They were very meticulous in completing the finish work to our satisfaction. They are fine craftsmen. All of the sub-contractors and the suppliers of cabinets, counters, appliances, sink and faucet, air-conditioning and lighting were very easy to work with. They all did their part of the project to our complete satisfaction. This is the fourth major project that your company has done in our two-family house. Thank you again for the spectacular result. Greetings! Wanted to spend a few moments to express our appreciation, admiration and pleasure with the work you did for us on our kitchen, bathroom and bedroom remodel. Having a few weeks to reflect upon the project, the word that most comes to mind about your business is professionalism. In every step of the process, we could clearly see that your employees take pride in being punctual, efficient, and accountable. While one might right a pleasing remodel with many contractors, I believe it's the experience you offer that sets Villandry Contracting apart. Here are a few specifics to illustrate this point: 1) Educating us about the process of a home renovation and giving us resources (kitchen designer Mary Packard and bathroom designer Amy Zuckerman) to translate a universe of options to workable reality. 2) Constructing temporary walls and doorways to block out the dust in our livable space 3) Problem solving with a potentially crippling issue of ice dams and water coming into the house. 4) Sopheak and Rui arriving punctually each day of the week even on MLK and President's Day despite record snowfall this winter. 5) Creativity in removing walls, beams and pipes to create a more aesthetic end result. In closing, I'd like to spend a moment to praise Fernando Carriero for carrying us through this process. Fernando was EXCEPTIONAL! Not only did Fernando skillfully organize and time the project; he was part therapist (for our neurotic and impulsive concerns) and part godfather (mediating just to make things happen). While he did so much for the overall project, we'll mostly remember him for the little things (like running out of the house with the twins as debris fell from the roofer or coming over at 8pm to fiddle with our nonworking heat). This letter is to express our sincere appreciation for the fantastic work you and your team did in converting the third floor attic space of our two-family home into a master bedroom, bath, and study and for the remodeling of our kitchen. Ann and I were both apprehensive above taking on a remodeling project of this scope. We had heard too many horror stories from friends and co-workers regarding home remodeling projects that ended up costing significantly more than originally quoted, took far longer than promised, and had major problems with quality of workmanship. When we called references from the very long list of names you provided to us, we couldn't believe the way past customers praised your company and the quality of your work. (We thought to ourselves, no one could have that many relatives!) Choosing your company over the other contractors we met with was one o the easiest and best decisions we have made. When all was said and done, your work was on budget, on time, and exceeded our expectation for quality of workmanship. The computer-generated floor plans and three-dimensional drawings you provided, made it easy to visualize what the finished project would look like and to refine the plan to our exact wishes. As a result, what we envisioned is what we got a wonderful new living space that perfectly meets our requirements and tastes. The quality of workmanship and attention to detail were impressive from the re-creation of moldings to match the original woodwork to the oak banistered stairway leading up to the converted attic living space. You and your crew were a pleasure to work with. Our friends who have worked with other contractors were amazed when we told them about the morning meetings to review progress and answer questions, and the steps your team took to minimize inconvenience to us during the construction process, such as constructing temporary barriers between work areas and living space. We want to extend our sincere thanks to you, Fernando, Sean, Rui, and the rest of your crew. In particular, we want to thank Fernando for his patience, attention to detail, and the excellent advice he provided throughout the remodeling process. Now that the dust has settled and we're pretty much back in shape, Steve and I wanted to formally thank you and VCI for a job well done. Wee are thoroughly enjoying our expanded kitchen, and the mudroom and new bath already make us wonder how we could have waited so long to add on to the house. The quality of work is evident to everyone who's received a tour of the new quarters, and especially to us. After hearing horror stories of construction projects gone awry and contractors who don't show for days at a time, we realize we made the right choice in selecting you as our contractor. Throughout the project we were impressed with the VCI work crew. Jim arrived every day, cheerful and raring to go. His eagerness to accommodate our wishes was much appreciated. His manner with the kids, always taking the time to answer their questions about the work going on and especially being ready with a few sporting tips for Mike, made him a favorite with all threw and made me feel very comfortable with him being in charge of things. Leo's quite, hardworking demeanor should also be complimented. On time every day, willingly doing whatever job he was assigned, and obviously giving his best, he impressed us both. During the last week of the project Peter and John carried on the work in the friendly and competent style we had come to expect from VCI. In addition, the electrical work done by Ricky and the plumbing by Paul was done quickly, neatly and pleasantly. I would not hesitate to have anyone of these men working in my home again, as their work and their attitude towards me and the kids was always without reproach. Finally, Dave, your daily progress checks, your willingness to discuss all aspects of the project in detail and to our satisfaction, your efforts to quickly correct any problems, and your easy accessibility made us feel comfortable that VCI would stand behind their work and that we would not have to deal with any disasters.
