01. Do I need to hire an architect? No architect is needed since we have the ability to create plans for you. We can create your vision with typical 1 dimensional plans and with 3D camera views to help you visualize your project before work begins! Typically included in plans created by VCI: framing plans, electrical plans, plumbing plans, furniture layout, energy audit, 3D elevations (if applicable), 3D camera views, landscaping views (if applicable).
02. How long does it take to complete a job? Here are some examples (these are general estimates only and will change depending upon, but not limited to, the size of each project, weather, etc. Also these estimates include build time only and do not include the time to create plans, order materials, etc):
Deck (3-7 days), Window Replacement (1-3 days), Bathroom (4-6 weeks), Kitchen (6-8 weeks), Addition (1-2 months), 2nd Floor Raising (1-2 months), new home (3-5 months).
03. What does your contracting company do?Typically when a contract is signed with VCI, VCI is hired to oversee a building project that may include the use of subcontractors. VCI handles the carpentry and coordinates and oversees all other work being completed for the project as specified in the signed contract. VCI will schedule and coordinate all work to be completed by the subcontractors. We will ensure the final product stands up to our high standards and that you are very happy with the final result of your project.

06. When can plans be drawn, work be scheduled, and/or work begin?Jobs require the following to be completed before any work can begin: 1)Plans (if required by the building department), 2) Building Permit (if applicable), 3) Signed contract,
Before plans are drawn, a Plan Commitment Contract is signed. Generally, we are booked a few months in advance for most projects. Unless there is a last minute cancellation, reputable contractors generally are not immediately available. Depending upon your project, certain items must be ordered in advance (such as cabinets, counters, bathroom fixtures, etc.) which may take a few weeks to pick out, order, and receive and will also affect when your project is scheduled to begin. Small jobs (that take days, not weeks or months to complete) are scheduled as "fill-in" jobs to be completed in between larger projects, during delays in largers projects, or during inclement weather. Fill-in jobs are put on a list to be completed within a timeframe of a few weeks or months and are scheduled with a 24-hour notice before starting work.
